Boby's Garage ("we", "our", or "the app") is a car-spotting mobile application. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. Data We Collect

• Account information: Email address and username when you create an account (via email/password or social login).
• Photos: Images you capture through the app's camera to identify cars. Photos are stored on your device and optionally uploaded to our servers.
• Location: Approximate GPS coordinates when you spot a car, used to tag the location of your catch. Location is only collected when the app is in use and you have granted permission.
• Usage data: App interactions such as catches, XP earned, and challenge progress to provide game features and leaderboards.
• Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for crash reporting and compatibility.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide the core car-spotting and collection experience
• To maintain leaderboards and progression systems
• To improve our car recognition model accuracy
• To send important service updates (no marketing emails without consent)

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in encrypted form. We use AWS Cognito for authentication and S3 for photo storage. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share anonymized, aggregated usage statistics for analytics purposes. Your username and catch count may appear on public leaderboards if you opt in.

5. Your Rights

• Access: You can view all your data within the app.
• Deletion: You can request full account deletion by contacting us. We will delete all associated data within 30 days.
• Export: You can request a copy of your data by contacting us.

6. Camera and Location Permissions

The app requires camera access to identify cars. Location access is optional but recommended for tagging catch locations. You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.

7. Children's Privacy

Boby's Garage is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
